Cosrx One Step Moisture Up Pad

For the past 10 days, I've been using these moisture pads in my AM skincare routine and I wanted to share my thoughts about them.
The pads are manufactured by Cosrx - a brand that focuses on using minimal ingredients for maximum function.

Claims
"A daily pad that contains hyaluronic acid to replenish moisture for all day hydration. Regular use of pads will smooth the skin's texture, providing a perfect canvas for flawless makeup."

Ingredients
Propolis Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine Salicylate, Panthenol, Allantoin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate, Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil.

As you can see, the ingredients list is free of alcohol and fragrance.

Principal ingredients
Propolis Extract (70%): This is nourishing and anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants.
Betaine Salicylate (0.5%): This is exfoliating.

Other noticeable ingredients
Allantoin: This is soothing and anti-inflammatory.
Sodium Hyaluronate: Sodium Hyaluronate can hold 1.000 times its own weight in water which is why it has amazing moisture-binding abilities.

The packaging
The pads come in a round, hard plastic jar with a screw-on lit. When you remove the lit, the jar is sealed. The jar contains 70 pads. On the side, there are claims in English. The jar comes in a box with claims, directions and ingredients list in both Korean and English.
On the lit, Mr. RX is sitting, using the pads.

The pads

On the left picture you can see the embrossing side and on the right picture you can see the softer side.
According to Cosrx' instructions, you should use the embrossing side first and the softer side second.

Smell
The pads smell like citrus. Nothing strong or overwhelming but the smell is noticeable.

Directions
1. Swipe the embossing side across the face avoiding eye area after cleansing.
2. Swipe the softer side across the face to pick up the remaining debris.
3. Replace the lid tightly to make sure the pads stay wet and clean.

How I use it
I use these pads as the first step in my AM skincare routine after cleansing my face. After that, I use toner, cream, eye cream and sunscreen which is far less products than I usually use during these cold months.

Effects
I use both sides of these pads almost every day. On the days where I exfoliate my skin with a washoff mask, I only use the softer side. Other than that, I can use both sides every day. The embrossing side is not to rough for my dry and slightly sensitive skin.
The product takes a while to absorb. After absorbed, I apply toner. I know that some people use these pads and skip the toner but I like adding that extra hydration. Usually, I would apply essence but my skin simply doesn't need that with these pads because they're so moisturizing. With these pads, I can use my light summertime daycream instead of my heavier wintertime daycream even though it's almost November and there's cold outside.
For people with oily skin, these pads might be moisturizing enough to skip the rest of the routine and just apply eye cream and sunscreen.

These pads leave my skin glowing, hydrated and moisturized.
They're the perfect choice for the lazy days. The few times that I've used these in my PM skincare routine, I've just used a sleeping pack and an eye cream afterwards. I didn't need anymore products.

I haven't used them enough to see any long term results.

Pros
- Doesn't contain alcohol or fragrance.
- Does as it claims to do.

Cons
The only con is the packaging. I wish it came with a tweezer or something like that to make it more hygeinic so your fingers don't touch the other pads when you take out one. Also, the PAO is 12 months but I honestly doubt that they will keep moist for 12 months. It's not a big problem for me because I really like using them so they won't last 12 months but you have to keep in mind that you should use them within a reasonable amount of time.

Would I recommend?
Yes. It's a nice product that does as it claims to do.

Repurchase?
I haven't used them enough to decide whether I want to repurchase.

The packaging
I really adore the packaging - it's so pretty. The packaging is just like with all the other sheet masks from this range with the main ingredient on the front. On the back of the pouch, there are claims, directions and ingredients list in both Korean and English.

The mask

When I opened the pouch and took out the sheet, it was difficult to unfold.

The sheet material was comfortable and super thin but it didn't break easily.

Essence
The essence was clear and watery and there was a lot of it. It was dripping like crazy while I was unfolding the sheet and the essence ran down my neck while I was wearing the mask.
There was about a tablespoon amount of essence left in the pouch.

Smell
The essence had a citrus-y smell which was kind of disappointing to me because I love the smell of roses. Anyway, the smell was pleasant and not too strong.

Fit
The fit was great even though there weren't any slits to improve the fit. Both the holes for the eyes and the hole for the mouth were big enough for my face. The thin material adhered well to my skin and it stayed in its place the whole time I was wearing the mask.

Time
According to the back of the pouch, you should leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes. I left it on for half an hour before it started to dry.

While wearing the mask, it didn't irritate my skin or feel uncomfortable at all.

Results
When I took off the sheet, the remaining essence absorbed after about 10 minutes. It left a bit of a sticky residue but that went away when I continued my skincare routine.
It left my skin glowing and my skintone was evened out nicely. My skin felt hydrated and looked healthy. The results didn't last until the next day.

Price
This costs $1.30 (USD) on etudehouse.com or you can buy a set with one of each of the masks from this range and pay $16.91 (USD) on eBay *

Pros
- Pretty packaging.
- Great fit.
- No strong, artificial smell.
- Does as it claims to do.
- Budget friendly.

Cons
- Sticky residue.
- The results didn't last until the next day.

Would I recommend?
Sure. This is a nice mask that does as it claims to do.

Repurchase?
I will not repurchase this because there are other masks from this range that I prefer.

Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask Acai Berry

Last night, I tried this mask for the first time. This mask is from the budget friendly sheet mask range 'It's Real Squeeze' from Innisfree. I didn't really have any expectations to this mask because most of the masks I've tried from this sheet mask range haven't made me go 'wow'.

Claims
"This sheet mask with squeezed acai berry is full of nutrients to keep skin looking firmer and smoother."

Directions
"1. After cleansing, use toner to refine skin texture. 2. Unfold and place the mask on the face, avoiding eye and lip area. 3. Leave on for 10-20 minutes. 4. Discard the mask and gently pat for further absorption."

Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Loeracea Fruit Extract, Polyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, PEG-100 Stearate, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Disdoium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance.

Noticeable ingredients
Grapefruit Extract: This is rich in antioxidants and vitamins.
Euterpe Loeracea Fruit Extract (acai berry): This is known to provide younger-looking skin.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice: This is soothing and hydrating.
Sodium Hyaluronate:  This is hydrating and has amazing moisture-binding abilities.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Green Tea): This is moisturizing and rich in antioxidants.

The packaging
The packaging is just like with all the other masks from this sheet mask range - with pictures of the main ingredient on the front side. On the back of the pouch, there are claims, directions and ingredients list in both Korean and English.

The mask

When I opened the pouch and took out the sheet, I was easy to unfold.

The sheet material was thicker than average sheet material and it was very soft.

Essence
The essence was white and lotion-y. It didn't drip while I unfolded the sheet and the essence didn't run down my neck while I was wearing the mask.
There were little to no essence left in the pouch.

Smell
The essence had a sharp smell of berries. It was too strong for my taste because it was noticeable the whole time I was wearing the mask.

Fit
The fit was actually quite good. There were one slit on each cheek and one at each eye-hole to adjust the mask and improve the fit. Both the holes for the eyes and the hole for the mouth were big enough for my face. Even though the sheet material was thicker than average sheet material, it adhered very well to my skin.

Time
According to the back of the pouch you should leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes. I left it on for half an hour and it was still damp when I removed it.

While wearing the mask, it didn't irritate my skin. The strong smell did irritate my nose though.

Results
When I took off the sheet, the remaining essence on my skin absorbed after about 15 minutes. It left a very sticky residue that didn't go away and my skin looked oily.
It wasn't all bad - it left my skin so moisturized that I only needed a light and hydrating sleeping pack (Laneige Water Sleeping Mask) afterwards.

Price
This retails at $1.20 (USD) on innisfreeworld.com so it's a budget friendly mask.

Pros
- Nice fit.
- Moisturizing.
- Budget friendly.

Cons
- Strong smell.
- Very sticky residue.

Would I recommend?
This mask didn't really impress me and there are better masks out there, so no.

Repurchase?
I bought three of these and I still have two left but once I've used those, I will not repurchase.

The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea

Two nights ago, I tried this mask for the first time. This mask is from the budget friendly sheet mask range 'Real Nature' from The Face Shop.

Claims
"This mask drenched in serum with Green Tea soothes skin irritated by environmental stessors, refreshing and revitalizing it."

Directions
"1, Wash face and apply toner. 2. Pull out mask and carefully place on face. 3. Remove after 10-15 minutes and pat face lightly to absorb remaining essence on skin."

Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Alcohol Denat, Detaine, Panthenol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Dimethicone, Allantoin, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogentated Castor Oil, Carboner, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

Noticeable ingredients
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Green Tea): This is moisturizing and rich in antioxidants.
Sodium Hyaluronate:  This is hydrating and has amazing moisture-binding abilities.
Grapefruit Extract: This is rich in antioxidants and vitamins.
Allantoin: This is soothing and anti-inflammatory.

The formula is without added parabens.

The packaging
On the front side of the pouch, there are green tea leaves. On the back side of the pouch there are claims and directions in both Korean, English and French (I think?). There are also ingredients list in both Korean and English.

The mask

When I opened the pouch and took out the sheet, it was difficult to unfold due to the amount of slits.

The sheet material was medium-thick - like average sheet material.

Essence
The essence was light green and watery. It didn't drip when I was unfolding the sheet and the essence didn't run down my neck while I was wearing wearing the mask.
There was about a tablespoon of essence left in the pouch.

Smell
The essence had a strong smell - like a mixture of green tea and alcohol. It was honestly a bit overwhelming since it was noticeable the whole time I was wearing the mask.

Fit
The fit was okay but there was definetely room for improvement. There were plenty of slits to adjust the mask for a better fit. Both the holes for the eyes and the hole for the mouth were big enough for my face. The sheet material was a bit stiff and it didn't adhere well to my skin.

Time
According to the back of the pouch, you should leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes. I left it on for 25 minutes before it started to dry.

Results
When I took off the sheet, the remaining essence absorbed after about 10 minutes. It left a bit of a sticky residue and my skin felt somewhat irritated after taking off the sheet - probably because of the perfume.
The mask left a semi-matte finish and my skin was hydrated.

Price
This retails at $3 on thefaceshop.ca so it's not expensive.

Pros
- Hydrating.
- Not expensive.

Cons
- Strong smell.
- Fit could be better.
- Didn't adhere well to my skin.
- Irritated my skin.

Would I recommend?
No, there are better masks out there at the same pricerange.

Repurchase?
No.

When I opened the pouch and took out the sheet, it was difficult to unfold.

The sheet material was super thin (0.2 mm) but it didn't break easily.

Essence
The essence was clear and watery and there was SO MUCH. It was dripping like crazy while I unfolded the sheet and the essence ran down my neck while I was wearing the mask.
There was about a tablespoon amount of essence left in the pouch.

Smell
The essence had a nice citrus-y smell. It wasn't strong or overwhelming and it was barely noticeable while the mask was on.

Fit
The fit was, like with all the other masks from this sheet mask range, great. Even though there weren't any slits to improve the fit, it fitted my face nicely. Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence

Today, I want to talk about this essence from Cosrx. I've been using it every day for the past week in my PM skincare routine and I really enjoy it.
Cosrx is a brand that focuses on using minimal ingredients for maximum function.

Claims
"Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence is a daily power essence that nourishes deeper inside the skin and promotes moisture retention. With Hyaluronic acid (Sodium Hyaluronate 4,000 ppm) as the key ingredient, it enables the skin to increase its water retention so as to help with reducing wrinkles and treat dry and damaged skin.
Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence helps to create smooth skin texture and does not contain harmful substance / chemicals that can irritate your skin (does not contain paraben, artificial fragrance and coloring, mineral oil, etc)."

Ingredients
Hippophae Rhamnoides Water (sea bucktorn water), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Ethyl Hexanediol.

As you can see, this essence only contains seven ingredients and none of them are parabens, artificial colorants and fragrance which makes it perfect even for sensitive skin.

Noticeable ingredients
Sea Bucktorn Water (84,8%): The Sea Bucktorn fruit is full of vitamins and antioxidants.
Sodium Hyaluronate (4,000 ppm): Sodium Hyaluronate is derived from Hyaluronic Acid. It has the same benefits but Sodium Hyaluronate is absorbed more easily. Sodium Hyaluronate can hold 1000 times its own weight in water which is why it has amazing moisture-binding abilities.

The packaging

This essence comes in a box. On the box, there are claims, 'how to use' and ingredients list in both Korean and English.

The packaging of the bottle is classic Cosrx: Simple. The bottle contains 100 ml. product and it has a pump dispenser so it's easy to control the amount of product. It comes in a see-through bottle so you can see how much product you have left. There is a label on the bottle where there are claims written in English.

Texture and color
It's not easy to see the essence on the spatula but it's there. The essence is clear. I was surprised by how watery it is - it's thinner than Cosrx Advanced 96 Snail Mucin Essence but it's still thicker than toner. It spreads out easily on the skin.

Smell
I can't describe the smell of this but it's barely noticeable.

How to use
"After cleansing and toning, apply a small amount on your entire face. Gently pat using fingertips to aid absorbtion, and then go forth with your moisturizers."

Effects
Once applied, this essence absorbs quickly into my skin without leaving any sticky residue.
It leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and smooth.
Since I've only used this for a week, I haven't seen any longterm results but I do feel like my skin is more hydrated and looks more plump than before I started using it.

Pros
- Short ingredients list.
- Practical pump bottle.
- No noticeable smell.
- Does as it claims to do.

Cons
I can't think of any cons.

Would I recommend?
Sure. If you're looking for a hydrating essence, this is perfect and due to it's short ingredients list and lightweight texture, I think it will fit all skintypes.

Repurchase?
I haven't used this enough to decide whether to repurchase this but it's not unlikely.

Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask Hyaluronic Acid

The other day, I used this mask in my AM skincare routine. Sometimes, when I have plans (other than school) and I don't feel like wearing other makeup than mascara, I use a sheet mask in my AM skincare routine. Who needs makeup when you have glowing skin?
Anyway, this is the first mask that I've ever tried from this sheet mask range so I was very excited to finally use it. This sheet mask range 'Skin Clinic' from Innisfree is a bit more expensive than their 'It's Real Squeeze' sheet mask range but it's not expensive.

Claims
"The fine delicate cotton mask contains hyaluronic acid to relieve skin dryness, leaving your skin feeling dewy and hydrated."

Directions
"1. After cleansing, use toner to refine skin texture.
2. Take out mask from package and remove film. Evenly adhere it to entire face, avoiding eye and lip area.
3. Remove the sheet after 10-20 minutes and gently pat to allow the remaining formula to absorb into skin."

Ingredients list
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Glycereth-26, Betaine, Carbomer, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Disodium EDTA

Noticeable ingredients
Grapefruit Extract: This is rich in antioxidants and vitamins.
Sodium Hyaluronate: This is hydrating and has amazing moisture-binding abilities
Orchid Extract: This is moisturizing and it's known to reduce fine lines.
Camellia Sinenses Leaf Extract (Green Tea): This is moisturizing and rich in antioxidants.

As you may have noticed on the ingredients list, this mask doesn't contain fragrance.

The packaging
The packaging is simple but not boring. On the back of the pouch there are claims, directions and ingredients list in both Korean and English.

The mask

When I opened the pouch and took out the mask, it was easy to unfold due to the film the mask was attached to. It was easy to remove the film.

The sheet material was very thin but it was a bit stiff.

Essence
The essence was clear and watery. It didn't drip while I unfolded the mask but the essence did run down my neck while I was wearing the mask.
There was plenty of essence left in the pouch.

Smell
The essence had a slight citrus-y smell. It wasn't strong and it wasn't even noticeable while I was wearing the mask.

Fit
The fit was nice. Both the holes for the eyes and the hole for the mouth were big enough for my face. There were slits to improve the fit and the sheet material didn't break easily so it was no problem to do so. Even though the sheet material was a bit stiff, it adhered well to my skin.

Time
According to the back of the pouch, you should leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes. I left it on for 25 minutes before it started to dry.

While wearing the mask it had a pleasant cooling effect.

Results
The remaining essence on my absorbed within a few minutes. It didn't leave any sticky residue and it didn't make my t-zone look oily. Instead my skin was left hydrated and with a dewy glow.

Price
This retails at $2.20 on Innisfreeworld.com so it's not expensive.

Would I recommend?
Yea, this is a nice mask that does as it claims.

Pros
- No noticeable smell while on.
- Nice fit.
- Pleasant cooling effect while on.
- It does as it claims to do.

Cons
- Stiff material.

Repurchase?
I have two of these left but once I've used those, I will not repurchase this. It just didn't have a 'wow' effect like the Hyaluronic Acid mask from Etude House had. I will try other masks from this sheet mask range though.

Sheet Mask Empties September 2017

I feel silly even writing this post because it's almost mid October. I only used 20 sheet masks during September (19 on the picture because I threw out the packaging from one). September was definitely not my best month when it comes to mask empties.

My favorite masks were the Etude House Therapy Air Masks. I just love the super thin and comfortable material. The ingredients lists are also quite impressive and they're all fragrance-free.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask Lotus
This had a pleasant cooling effect while on. It was so soothing and hydrating. It made my pimples look smaller and it evened out my skintone. I will repurchase this.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask Hyaluronic Acid
This is one of my favorite masks when it comes to hydrating. It always leaves my skin hydrated, soft and non-sticky. I've repurchased this more times than I can count and I will keep repurchasing it.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask Manuka Honey
This is one of the best nourishing masks I've ever tried. It was moisturizing enough for my dry skin - even after I exfoliated it. I don't have anything bad to say about this mask. I will repurchase this.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask Green Tea
This mask made my skin feel refreshed and hydrated. It evened out my skintone and my skin looked less dull. I will repurchase this.

Missha Pure Source Cell Sheet Mask Honey
This was a bit moisturizing but not enough for my dry skin. I will not repurchase this.

Missha Pure Source Cell Sheet Mask Bamboo
This mask was hydrating but it left a sticky residue and had a strong perfumed smell that I found overwhelming. I will not repurchase this.

Cosrx Holy Moly Snail Mask
This was hydrating and moisturizing but it made my skin look oily. I will not repurchase this.

Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask Sheet Shea Butter
This mask was so moisturizing - perfect for my dry skin. Unfortunately, it left a sticky residue that didn't go away. I might repurchase this.

Mizon Joyful Time Essence Mask Hyaluronic Acid
This mask was hydrating and made my skin soft but it had a strong smell of alcohol. I will not repurchase this.

RiRe Real Nature Mask Pack Pearl
This mask evened out my skintone but after a few hours my red cheeks returned. It gave my skin a nice glow that lasted all day and it moisturized my skin well. The sheet material didn't adhere well to my skin and took a long time to absorb. I will not repurchase this.

The Face Shop Real Nature Lotus
This mask was hydrating and it didn't leave any sticky residue. The fit could be better, it didn't adhere well to my skin and it had a strong smell. I will not repurchase this.

Nature Republic Real Nature Royal Jelly
This mask left my skin feeling nourished but that's about the only good thing I have to say about it. The fit was bad, the material was stiff, it had a strong alcohol smell and it left a sticky residue that didn't go away. I will not repurchase this.

RE:CIPE Slowganic Sheet Mask Aloe
This mask had a little cooling effect while on and it was soothing. However, it didn't adhere well to my skin and the results were minimal. I will not repurchase this.

Holika Holika Pure Essence Mask Sheet Strawberry
This mask was hydrating and evened out my skintone nicely. The essence absorbed quickly without leaving any sticky residue and the material was thin and comfortable. I will repurchase this.

Tonymoly I'm Real Mask Sheet Avocado
I love using this mask after exfoliating my skin because it leaves my skin feeling so moisturized after using it. I've repurchased this a bunch of times and I will keep repurchasing it until I find a mask with similar results and a better fit.

This mask left my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and gave it a beautiful glow. However, the material was stiff and it had a weird smell. I will not repurchase this.

Tonymoly I'm Real Mask Sheet Lemon
This evened out my skintone nicely and gave my skin a beautiful glow. However, the sheet material was stiff and the fit was not good so I will not repurchase this.

The Face Shop Real Nature Lotus

I used this mask the other night. It was the second time I used it so I figured it was about time to share my thoughts about it. This mask is from the budget friendly sheet mask range 'Real Nature' from The Face Shop.

Claims
"The mask sheet drenched in serum with the pure energy of Lotus Flower moisturizes and gives tired, rough skin a boost of radiance."

Directions
"1. Wash face and apply toner. 2. Pull out mask and carefully place on face. 3. Remove after 10-15 minutes and pat face lightly to absorb remaining essence into skin."

Ingredients list

Noticeable ingredients
Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract (lotus: skin conditioning), Betaine (moisturizing) and Allantoin (soothing, anti-inflammatory).

The packaging
On the front side of the pouch, there are lotus flowers. On the back side of the pouch there are claims and directions in both Korean, English and French (I think?). There are also ingredients list in both Korean and English.

The mask

When I opened the pouch and took out the mask, it was difficult to unfold due to the amount of slits.

The sheet material was medium-thick - like average sheet material.

Essence
The essence was not clear but it wasn't white either. It didn't drip while I unfolded the sheet and the essence didn't run down my neck while I was wearing the mask.
There was about a tablespoon amount of essence left in the pouch.

Smell
The essence had a strong floral smell. It was a little overwhelming since it was noticeable while the mask was on.

Fit
The fit was okay. Both the holes for the eyes and the hole for the mouth were big enough. There were plenty of slits to adjust the mask for a better fit.
I couldn't move while I was wearing the mask because it didn't adhere that well to my skin.

Time
According to the back of the pouch, you should leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes. I left it on for 20 minutes and it was still damp when I removed it.

While wearing the mask it didn't irritate my skin.

Results
When I took off the sheet, the remaining essence on my skin absorbed within a few minutes. It didn't leave any sticky residue. My skin was feeling soft and hydrated.

Price
This costs about $2 so it's not expensive.

Would I recommend?
This is a decent everyday mask but it might irritate sensitive noses.

Pros
- Hydrating.
- No sticky residue.
- Budget friendly.

Cons
- Strong smell.
- The fit could be better.
- Didn't adhere well to my skin.

Repurchase?
I have a few of these left but once I've used those, I will not repurchase. It was an okay mask but it didn't 'wow' me.

Product and sample empties September 2017

A little late but here are my product and sample empties from September. I didn't empty a lot of products but I still felt like they deserved a post. I will make a seperate post for sheet mask empties.

Laneige Fresh Brightening Cleansing Oil
This removed sunscreen, makeup and dirt effectively without stripping the skin. However, it has a strong scent of citrus and I haven't seen any long term effects when it comes to brightening. I will not repurchase this.

Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
I know that this works great for a lot of people - I'm just not one of the. Sure, it did cleanse my skin well but it left my skin feeling tight and the smell was just overwhelming. It has a strong herbal smell. I will not repurchase this.

Secret Key Snail Repairing Sun Cream
This was my favorite sun cream but unfortunately, it's discontinued.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel
I love this! I don't use it on my face due to the unhyigenic packaging but I use it for my body and hair. I usually use it on my body after showering and it just calms my skin. It's so soothing and moisturizing. When I use it in my hair, I put about a teaspoon amount of product in towel-dry hair and let it air dry. When it's dry, it just looks so healthy - moisturized and shiny. Repurchased.

Tonymoly Magic Food Banana Sleeping Pack
This stuff smells amazing - like banana candy. It's nourishing and absorbed quickly without leaving any sticky residue. I will purchase full size when I've used up all the samples I have of it.

Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam EX
I actually emptied three of these but I threw out the other two since I emptied them while being on vacation and I didn't want to bring home garbage. This is effective and gentle. It left my skin clean and soft. However, it has a strong, herbal smell that I just don't like. I will not purchase full size.

Tonymoly Master Lab Hyaluronic Acid

The other night, I finally tried this mask. This comes from the less budget friendly sheet mask range 'Master Lab' from Tonymoly - not that this mask is expensive, it's just not as budget friendly as for example their 'I'm Real' sheet mask range. I've only tried two other Master Lab sheet masks - one that I really liked (Ceramide) and one was a major disappointment (Caviar) - so I didn't really know what to expect from this.

Claims
"This master lab mask recharges skin with moisture."

Directions
"Tear open and apply to face. Leave on for 10-20 minutes and then remove."

Ingredients list
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene glycol, Propanediol, Olive Oil PEG-8 Esters, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Methylpropanediol, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrilyc Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, PVM/MA Copolymer, Chlorphenesin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimenthyl Taurate Copolymer, Carbomer, Arginine, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Fragrance.

Noticeable ingredients
Sodium Hyaluronate: Hydrating and has amazing moisture binding abilities.
Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract: Anti-inflammatory, smoothing and soothing.
Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract: Plant extract.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Green tea): Antioxidant, moisturizing.

As you can see, this mask contains a bunch of plant extracts. However, if you look it up at Cosdna, you will see that not all the ingredients is low at the EWG safety.

The packaging
The packaging Tonymoly has chosen for this sheet mask range is different from the usual sheet mask packaging. This looks like something from a science lab but it fits the name "Master Lab". There are claims, directions and ingredients list in both Korean and English on the back of the pouch.

The mask

When I opened the pouch and took out the sheet, it was difficult to unfold.

This sheet mask range is made out of nude seal fabric which is a new material made of natural cellulose instead of cotton. It makes it super thin and it feels like the skin can breath while wearing the mask.

Essence
The essence was clear. It wasn't watery but it wasn't thick either - the consistency was like ampoule.
The sheet was dripping while I unfolded it and the essence was running down my neck while I was wearing the mask.
There was about a teaspoon amount of essence left in the pouch.

Smell
I can't really find the words to descripe the smell. It wasn't unpleasant and I didn't find it strong or overwhelming but it was noticeable while the mask was on - sensitive noses beware.

Fit
The fit was surprisingly good considering that there weren't any slits to improve it. Both the holes for the eyes and the hole for the mouth were big enough for my face. The thin material adhered so well to my skin and it was comfortable to wear.

Time
According to the back of the pouch, you should leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes. I left it on for half an hour before it started to dry.

While wearing the mask, it had a nice cooling effect.

Results
The remaining essence on my skin absorbed after about 10 minute. It left a little sticky residue but that went away when I continued my skincare routine.
My skin was left non-shiny but with a little glow. My skintone was evened out a bit - by that I mean that it evened out my one red cheek but my other cheek was still a kind of red. So weird. Anyway, my skin felt so hydrated and looked plump.
It didn't irritate my skin or cause any breakouts.

Price
This retails at $4 so it's not budget friendly.

Would I recommend?
This is a nice mask that does as it claims but if you look at the price, you can find better masks.

Pros
- No overwhelming smell.
- Super thin and comfortable material.
- Nice fit.
- Does as it claims to do.

Cons
- The smell was noticeable while the mask was on (the smell is both a pro and a con because it wasn't overwhelming which was nice but it was noticeable while the mask was on which was a bit annoying).
- Not cheap.

Would I repurchase?
No but I will try other masks from this range.
